Hair Removal Treatment

After Care
A. The process is straightforward. At your initial visit, our physician will discuss with you your previous treatment history followed by an assessment of your skin condition. Each laser hair removal typically lasts between 30-40 minutes. The treatment is repeated after 2-4 weeks.
A. The impact of the laser on the skin can be described as tiny pinpricks or tingling sensation which is a minor discomfort to some patients. Our physician can help reduce this discomfort with soothing gel. Our laser has the unique ability to emit the laser in a random spray manner to further reduce the discomfort.
A. To avoid possible side effects, all patients need to protect their skin from the sun. After laser hair removal, you should: • Avoid direct sunlight from hitting your treated skin. • Not use a tanning bed, sun lamp, or any other indoor tanning equipment. • Follow your therapist after-care instructions. • You will see some redness and swelling after treatment. This often looks like a mild sunburn. Applying aloe vera gel can help reduce your discomfort.
A. You may need to be treated from 3-5 times at intervals of 2-8 weeks. There are three (3) phases of hair growth - anagen, catagen, and telogen. Only hairs in the active growth phase; anagen, can be successfully treated.
A. The infrared energy delivered by this laser treatment can be used to remove all types of body hair. Sometimes "shaving bumps" can cover hair follicles, but the penetrating light of the laser can still be safely used.
